Today I was at the Breisgau Center with my two small children. Of course, on the way back to the car, the two spotted the children's rides. Unfortunately, there was no money changing machine and I didn't have the right change, so I went to the shop opposite to ask if they could change a 2 euro piece into two individual 1 euro pieces. The shop was completely empty except for two employees - no other customers. My question was extremely politely worded and politely delivered. The cashier glared at me aggressively while I asked my question and then told me with obvious satisfaction that she could do it but wouldn't do it. I was totally taken aback by this anti-social response and asked again. The colleague then explained to me in a similarly unfriendly way that they had to pay fees at their bank for changing small change and that they would therefore not change a 2 euro piece into two 1 euro pieces. Honestly? I have never experienced anything like it! Customer service zero. How much in fees would the bank charge if you had to exchange one 2 euro piece instead of two 1 euro pieces at the end of the day? That is absurd. Your behavior reflects poorly on the entire Breisgau Center. If you as a tenant have a problem with other tenants (specifically the children's rides), then address it actively and do not unprofessionally take out your obvious negative emotions on the topic on customers. If there had been a clearly visible sign in your shop saying "Coins only change after a previous purchase" or something similar, or if you had said this in a friendly manner, then it would not have been a problem to buy something small and then get two 1 euro pieces in change to get. But something like that? To be fobbed off in such an unfriendly and condescending manner. No thanks!
